While the winners won’t be revealed until the P!nk-hosted ceremony on June 7 at Radio City Music Hall, leading the 2026 Tony Awards nomination pack is none other than new musicals “The Lost Boys” and “Schmigadoon!” Both productions have each earned 12 nominations.

With nine nominations each, “Cats: The Jellicle Ball“, “Death of a Salesman,” Richard O’Brien’s “The Rocky Horror Show” are tied for the third most nominated production.
In addition to the ceremony, the Tony Awards Administration Committee has announced its coveted lifetime award recipients. Tony Award-winner, Theater Hall of Fame inductee, and Lincoln Center’s former Artistic Director, André Bishop alongside legendary Tony Award-winning lighting designer Jules Fisher, Tony Award-winning playwright and director James Lapine will each receive the 2026 Special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre.
In a joint statement, Jason Laks, president of the Broadway League, and Heather Hitchens, president & CEO of the American Theatre Wing, gushed about the lifetime achievement recipients.
“How lucky are we to have such a wealth of deserving talent, whose lifetimes of contributions left us unable to select just one recipient of this prestigious honor,” said Laks and Hitchens. “The work that André, Jules, and James have done, and continue to do, will leave an indelible mark for generations to come. They are each a constant source of inspiration, and we look forward to celebrating them at Broadway’s biggest night.”
This year’s Tony Honors For Excellence In The Theatre recipients include 1/52 Project, Jake Bell, Kenn Lubin, and Loren Plotkin. The 2026 Isabelle Stevenson Tony Award recipient is Mary-Mitchell Campbell. The 2026 Special Tony Award recipient is League of Resident Theatres (LORT).
