Submission Guidelines

In order to better serve the independent entertainment community, we have opened our professional DMs for general submissions.

We are proud to accept pitches from all self-signed artists as well as the following minor record labels; 4AD, ANTI- Records, ATO Records, Arts & Craft, Bayonet Records, Brainfeeder, Carpark Records, Communion Music, Dead Oceans, Domino, EMPIRE, Fat Cat Records, Fat Possum, Father/Daughter Records, Fool’s Gold Records, Ghostly, Hardly Art Records, Heavenly Recordings, IMG Records, Jagjaguwar, Love Over Everything, Mad Decent, Matador Records, Mello Music Group, Merge Records, Mexican Summer, Mom + Pop Music, Ninja Tune, Photo Finish, Polyvinyl Record Co., Rhymesayers, Ropeadope, Rough Trade Records, Sacred Bones Records, Secretly Canadian, Sub Pop, Winspear, XL Recordings, Zerd Records and more.

We do not, however, accept submissions from The Big Three… Sony Music Entertainment (and its subsidiaries including Arista Records, Columbia Records, Epic, RCA, The Orchard, Ulta Records, etc.), Universal Music Group (and its subsidiaries including Capitol Music Group, Def Jam, EMI, Harvest Records, Interscope Records, Polydor Records, Republic Records, Virgin, etc.) and Warner Music Group (and its subsidiaries including Atlantic Records, Elektra Music Group, Neon Gold Records, etc.).

Event Calendar

Finding a concert has never been easier! Showcasing respected and indie-friendly venues through the greater-New York City area and beyond our #IndieEvents Calendar is curated specifically to feature music performances by independent recording artists.

Important note: Our #IndieEvents calendar is ONLY for live (or virtual) musical performances which include traditional concerts, showcases, record/single release shows, etc. Our events are carefully selected. Therefore, not all submissions will be approved.

Submitting your event is a breeze! To get started, click HERE. The required fields on the form include the headliner’s name, a short blurb about the headliner or event, a high-resolution photo of the headliner, event date, event time, location, ticket link.

If a change must be made to the submission, please e-mail submit [at] envertent.com with the subject “Event Submission Update”. Within the body of the message, please be sure to include the name of the headlining artist, performance date, and the noted changes.

For consideration of placement on to the #IndieEvents Event Calendar, please adhere to the following guidelines:

  1. the event must be submitted at least one [1] week before the performance date,
  2. the headlining artists can not be signed to a recording contract with a major record label (for a list of labels we do and do not cover scroll up),
  3. the event must have an online ticket purchase option if there is an admission price.

If an event submitted for consideration does not adhere to the guidelines submitted above, the request will be rejected.

Editorial Requests

News Coverage

At ENVERT, we are committed to providing unbiased media coverage for independent entertainers. Coverage includes in-depth interviews; insightful news articles which include pre- and post-event coverage, tour announcements, artists signings to minor labels, album announcements, and more. Unfortunately, with such a small staff, we cannot guarantee coverage without your help! By adhering to the guidelines below, you can help introduce yourself to our readers!

For general news coverage, please be sure to include the following information in your initial email to submit [at] envertent.com with the subject line “News Coverage”:

  • the nature of the request for example interview requests, pre-event coverage, etc. (must fit within ENVERT’s commitment to supporting independently marketed and funded entertainments with no backing from major corporations/entities),
  • a detailed press release*,
    • a two-paragraph blurb about the topic,
    • social media links to the center of the request,
    • any relevant weblinks (song, music video, event homepage, etc.)
    • and point of contact for follow-up information.
  • and a high-resolution image related to your submission (press image of the artist, event promo image, etc.).

Please note: All in-person event coverage requests must but submitted at least one [1] month before the event date to confirm availability. If availability is confirmed, two complimentary tickets for entry will be required for one ENVERT contributor and one ENVERT photographer.

If a request for press coverage does not adhere to the guidelines submitted above, the request will be rejected.

Music Coverage

While we cover all disciplines of the arts, music is near and dear to our hearts. All genres are welcomed at ENVERT. However, we do have a no hate speech policy. Songs that include racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, bigotry and/or misogynistic will be trashed upon receipt.

For music coverage, please be sure to include the following information in your initial email to submit [at] envertent.com with the subject line “Music Submission”.

The guidelines for music submissions are as follows:

  • a detailed press release*,
    • one-paragraph blurb about the song or video,
    • a quote from the artist regarding the song or video,
    • the artist’s social media links,
  • the link to the song or video**
  • and a high-resolution image of the artist.

**Preferred digital stream platforms include SoundCloud, Bandcamp, and Spotify.

If music or a music video submitted for consideration does not adhere to the guidelines submitted above, the request will be rejected.
