Megan Thee Stallion is ready to do real hot theatre girl sh*t! On February 26, the “Savage” rapper revealed on Instagram that later this month she would be joining the cast of Moulin Rouge! The Musical.
The announcement marks a major step in Megan Thee Stallion’s professional career. The Grammy Award winner’s forthcoming appearance (March 24–May 17) marks Megan Thee Stallion’s Broadway debut. However, this milestone isn’t just a personal one for Meg, but a massive move in theatre history. Megan Thee Stallion stepping into the role of Zidler (formerly Harold Zidler) makes her the female-identifying performer to be cast in the role in any Moulin Rouge! production worldwide.
In a statement shared with Playbill, Megan Thee Stallion gushed about her upcoming Broadway debut.
“Stepping onto the Broadway stage and joining the ‘Moulin Rouge! The Musical’ team is an absolute honor,” said Megan. “I’ve always believed in pushing myself creatively, and theatre is definitely a new opportunity that I’m excited to embrace. Broadway demands a different level of discipline, preparation, and storytelling, but I’m up for the challenge and can’t wait for the Hotties to see a new side of me.”
Moulin Rouge! The Musical‘s producer, Carmen Pavlovic, echoed Megan’s excitement.

Megan Thee Stallion will pick up from where Bob the Drag Queen is set to leave off. Bob the Drag Queen will bow out of the role of Harold Zidler on Sunday, March 22. Rounding out the current Broadway cast is Christian Douglas as Christian, Meg Donnelly as Satine, André Ward as Toulouse-Lautrec, David Harris as The Duke of Monroth, Ricky Rojas as Santiago, Samantha Dodemaide as Nini Hailee, and Arianna Rosario as the Satine Alternate.
