Nikki Jean Shares Her Journey to ‘Get Free’ With New Film

Nikki Jean

Fresh on the heels of the release of her new EP, Beautiful Prison, Rhymesayers Entertainment‘s singer, and songwriter Nikki Jean debuts her self-directed short film, Get Free.

The film aims to celebrate and uplift women of color while featuring dozens of artists and entrepreneurs like Goldie Patrick, Veronica Zacharias, Ama Law, Tashira Halyard, April Manuel, Ebony Westbrook, Onrae Watkins, Kacey Williams, Zewditu Jewel, and Anika Hobbs.

When asked about the inspiration behind the film, Nikki Jean stated, “the opportunity to make something that inspired me, inspired by people whose work and energy I eagerly desire to amplify, was irresistible. This piece is a result of my own journey, my celebration of others on the path, and my desire for us all to get free.

As this project continues to develop, Nikki Jean hopes to use her platform to share the stories of other inspired women so be sure to stay connected with the singer and songwriter across your favorite social media platforms including FacebookTwitter, and Instagram.
