Following weeks of teasing, Grammy Award-nominated musician Destin Conrad is making good on his promise to drop a full reggae album. Next week, the “Make It Up” singer’s highly anticipated body of work will hit streaming platforms.
With two singles, “NERVOUS” and “I LOVE YOUR BODY,” already out, Conrad couldn’t hold it anymore. So, Conrad went onto his official social media platform to share the album’s name, artwork, and release date.
In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), along with the album cover art, Conrad teased what supporters can sonically expect from ROADRUNNER.
“ROADRUNNER is alternative, it’s reggae, it’s dancehall, it is rebellion,” proclaimed Conrad. “Rhythm n blues. Risky yet expected. It is my first mind and my take on reclaiming!! All from my lens.”
Although ROADRUNNER marks Conrad’s first formal full-length reggae project, Caribbean sonics have long been threaded throughout previous records. “Luv N Devotion,” “Mariposa,” and “So Nice” are just a few of Conrad’s past fusion tracks.
