The world of music and sports continues to collide. Yesterday (May 28), British record label 4AD announced a merchandise drop that soccer fans aren’t going to want to ignore. With the 2026 FIFA World Cup quickly approaching, 4AD has joined forces with New York football-inspired brand Fullkitwnkrs (Full Kit) to launch a limited-edition collection capsule.
The “Complicated Opposition” collection crafted by 4AD and Full Kit features three carefully curated pieces. Until June 8, supporters can snag either the Cocteau Twins Heaven or Las Vegas football shirt (retails for $139.38), the Scott Walker Bish Bosch football shirt (retails for $139.38), and/or the Colourbox x Air Miami match day scarf.
In the description of each item, Full Kit outlined the personal story behind each design.
“Drawing inspiration from the dreamlike palette and atmosphere of the band’s landmark 1990 album, also recognizing the band’s origins in Grangemouth and celebrating Scotland’s first trip to the World Cup in 28 years,” reads the synopsis of the Cocteau Twins Heaven or Las Vegas football shirt.
While the Scott Walker Bish Bosch football shirt is described as “channeling the confrontational maximalism of the Ohio-born artist’s final era. Reworking American soccer aesthetics through the abrasive and operatic tone of Bish Bosch, the piece pairs stark graphic treatments with unconventional detailing reflective of the album’s uncompromising spirit.”
A representative for 4AD revealed that there is a philanthropic element of the partnerships. “As part of the campaign, we will also be making a donation to War Child,” said the rep” “[War Child supports] children affected by war through education, protection, and advocacy to create lasting global change.”
