Tonight (February 1), music’s biggest night had industry professionals and fans alike on the edge of their seats. The 2026 Grammy Awards began with a bit of controversy, having trimmed the telecast in favor of extended performances.
Several awards were handed out off-camera, while Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Rap Album, Best Música Urbana Album, Best Contemporary Country Album, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best Pop Solo Performance were saved for the live show.
Despite the lack of screen time, many independent artists such as Bad Bunny, Hayley Williams, Clipse, Shaboozey, Durand Bernarr, Jelly Roll, Wet Leg, Miles Caton, Terrace Martin & Kenyon Dixon (2), and Margo Price were stoked at the prospect of taking home a grampohone.
