Over the past few years, McDonald’s has cooked up several culinary collaborations with musicians. But the fast food chain’s latest partnership with Toro y Moi goes far beyond its kitchens.
To relaunch its iconic McDonaldland series, the company tapped Toro y Moi to reimagine the original 1970s theme song.
In a statement, Toro y Moi describes the track as a “nod to the nostalgia of the era, while introducing the classic characters to the next generation.”
As a former fast-food worker (Wendy’s, to be specific), Toro y Moi’s contribution to the campaign marks a full-circle moment for the producer.
“Best. Day. Ever,” wrote the restaurant on its official Instagram page. “McDonaldland Meal out now… and reimagined song [thanks] to Toro y Ooi get 1 of 6 collectible souvenirs + the mt. Mcdonaldland shake today.”
