J.P. Unveils ‘Took A Turn,’ His Forthcoming EP Featuring Single ‘Serenity’

Just last year, J.P. found himself in the middle of an intense viral music storm. But after dropping his debut album, Coming Out Party, featuring the breakout tune “Bad Bitty,” J.P. wants to redirect his professional track.

After sharing his latest singles “Serenity” and “My Peace,” J.P. flexed his musical training, shifting into contemporary soul and R&B from his brief rap origins. Now, J.P. is ready to deliver a full project of this new creative direction. Today (August 13), J.P. announced his forthcoming EP Took A Turn (via Roc Nation Distribution).

In a statement sent out by J.P.’s team, they describe the EP as J.P. “giving fans exactly what they’ve been asking for from the very beginning,” meaning Took A Turn is “more singing, and more of the heartfelt lyricism.”

“This isn’t a departure from his past, but a natural evolution, shining a brighter light on a side of his artistry that fans have been calling for all along,” added the note.
