New Jersey’s official state nickname highlights its rich agricultural heritage. However, the Garden State’s most significant export is the arts. Whitney Houston, Frank Sinatra, Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi, and George Clinton are just a few musicians from New Jersey.
Bleachers’ Jack Antonoff is another award-winning recording artist and producer who hails from Jersey and wears it like a badge of honor. The multiple Grammy Award winner pours back into the state each year by way of Shadow Of The City festival.
This Saturday, June 28, the 7th installment of Shadow Of The City will take over the Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park. As usual, Bleachers will serve as the event’s featured headliner. Throughout the day, attendees will enjoy sets from Joyce Manor, Dora Jar, and Mike Birbiglia. Other featured performers include Ben Kweller, Skillcrusher, and Cassandra Coleman.
Over on Instagram, Antonoff penned a letter of excitement ahead of Bleachers’ set. “Once a year, [Bleachers] meet in New Jersey for Shadow Of The City,” he wrote. “So much life happens in between, and it’s time to come back together and tell all the stories of where we’ve been and what we’ve been through.”
He continued: “The band has not played a show since October 4, 2024, at Madison Square Garden, and when I tell you we are ready to f*cking do, I mean we are going to blow the roof out of the sky.”
