All eyes are on country music. Many factors contribute to the public’s interest in the genre, including Shaboozey’s chart-topping hit “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter, and Post Malone’s F-1 Trillion albums. To keep the newer fans lassoed in, this year’s AMERICANAFEST, presented by the Americana Music Association, has something for just about everyone to enjoy.
From September 17 to 21, supporters, acts, and industry professionals will swarm Nashville, Tennessee, for AMERICANAFEST 2024. On the music end, recording artists Waxahatchee, The Cactus Blossoms, Leyla McCalla, and more will appear at an official event.
For Waxahatchee, that is through a fireside chat (A Conversation With Waxahatchee & Ann Powers) on September 19. The Cactus Blossoms will perform on September 20 at Cannery Hall. Meanwhile, Leyla McCalla is listed as a confirmed act on AMERICANAFEST’s showcase show.
In addition to the dozens of concerts scheduled across the event, attendees are encouraged to check out the host of the panel discussions. Several standout panels include Black Voices Amplified: Navigating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Country & Americana; Indigenous Leadership and Advocacy in the Music Community; Sustainably Supporting Black Women in Americana, Roots, and Country Music; Tour Marketing for Independent Artists: How to Market Your Shows Like a Pro all on September 18 as well as Songwriting as Feminine Expression and Activism Across Latin America on September 19.
