Tangina Stone is coming to a stage near you! Spirit Airlines has tapped the talented and rising singer-songwriter for its Music4Miles program where she and a select group of artists are covered for any travel for tour or performance dates within the United States. How cool is that?
Sponsored by Spirit, Tangina and her band will be able to tour the country for free, starting with her performance at this year’s SXSW Music Festival in Austin, Texas. Tangina and 570 performers were officially announced in the third – and largest – batch of artists on January 10, 2018 (Billboard). Tangina will bring her acclaimed live show to the Tap Room at The Market on Saturday, March 17 for The Color Agent’s, a media and events company founded to showcase artists that represent diversity in music worldwide, fourth official SXSW showcase.
Says Tangina, “The biggest obstacle for myself and band when touring has been the cost of transportation. That problem has been lifted through Spirit Airlines. I’m extremely grateful for this opportunity to connect with my fans and create new ones while on the road. The support Spirit is showing for artists is nothing short of amazing.”
Tangina released her debut album Elevate on all female record label IMG Records in 2017. The album dropped in Japan in March in collaboration with Sweet Soul Records with the worldwide release following in September. Elevate peaked at #27 on iTunes Top R&B albums chart and at #44 on Apple Music Japan Top R&B albums chart with song “Exposed” feat. Nelly Furtado trending for months on iTunes Japan Hot R&B tracks and lead single “Anxious” hitting gold on Spotify.
