Neo-Soul singer and songwriter Oliv Blu has us all in our feelings thanks to new single, “Say It”! The track produced by Loop Theory founder, Kenneth Clair, combines dream folk harmonies with strong R&B runs to create an irresistible tale of a complicated love affair.
Singing “baby, I love you but I’m at a lost/ and maybe, I’m in my feelings but these feelings are all that we got / I know that you think that’s I’m crazy/ don’t you get me confused / I’m trying to be patient / Imma be needing you to say it”, adding, “what’s been going on in your head / and won’t you lay it on me instead”. Blu details how poor communication can destroy a relationship of any kind but specifically a budding romance.
Another thing the former The Voice star has been vocal about is how COVID-19 has had a devastating impact on her livelihood writing on here Instagram, “steaming platforms usually pay artists less than a penny for each stream, which greatly affects artists, mainly those that are indie. The artist community has been hit hard with the termination of live performances due to COVID, making it extremely hard to earn and living,” prefacing that by saying, “‘[Say It] is now LIVE on my website and also can be purchased on Looptheoryinc.com.”
