Beloved recording artist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer JMSN‘s music is absolutely unavoidable. Even three years after the release of his studio album, Soft Spot, the project’s breakthrough track “Love Me” continues to trend across social media platforms.
This, along with his latest studio release, ...it’s only about u if you think it is., has kept JMSN on the road. Well, according to the musician, he will soon be trading his nights under stage lights for cozy couch time at home.
Yesterday (September 9), JMSN held a press conference to field questions about his career, future plans, and more. During the sit-down, which can be found on JMSN’s official TikTok page, he announced his intention to take an indefinite hiatus from touring.
“I wanted to call this together because after this upcoming tour we’re going to be on an indefinite hiatus from playing shows,” JMSN opened the conference.
After opening up the floor for questions, JMSN went on to clarify that he would finish out his current Straight Scared Tour before taking a break.
“The rest of the shows… we’re not canceling anything,” said JMSN. “We will play out the rest of the shows and then that will be it […] for the forseeable future.”
When asked what sparked this heavy decision, JMSN simply replied, “I’m tired.”
He went on to say, “I enjoy playing the shows, not so much the touring part. It’s a lot. It’s exhausting. I need a break. I really need a break. I really do.”
Despite the vulnerability JMSN expressed, fans swormed the comment section begging for him to add additional tour stops before his hiatus. JMSN shut down one request for another New York City show reminding the follower that he had already played in the market 8 times in the last year alone. Those shows included multiple sold out nights in Brooklyn at Public Records.
Many of JMSN’s followers refused to believe what that they be told. Several users lightheartedly began guessing when his next performance would he held to which JMSN sacaristically validated.
Before the hiatus goes into effect, supporters still have 31 chances to catch JMSN live. The Straight Scared Tour will make stops in North America (12 shows), Europe (13 shows), and Latin America (6 shows) before year’s end.
