Since her acclaimed debut album, Lost & Found, British recording artist Jorja Smith has become a fixture in soul and R&B music. But the “I Lied, You Lied” singer’s catalog contains far more sonic exploration than that.
Still, Smith’s deep dance cuts dazzle above most. Since the release of 2023’s falling or flying, dance music and all of its subgenres have been Smith’s creative playground. This week, Smith will drop her highly anticipated follow-up to the project and first full-length dance project, What Are The Odds, produced by Grammy-winning producer P2J.
In an interview with Billboard, Smith opened up about crafting What Are The Odds.
“This album came together really naturally,” said Smith. “There was never a big plan; it was just me making music that felt right in the moment.”
Smith went on to talk about working alongside P2J.
“We started experimenting with different sounds, pulling from U.K. garage, grime and house (funky house, Afro house), and it all grew from there,” said Smith. “The music feels uplifting, but the lyrics can be a bit sad at times. They’re about growing up, love, loss, friendships and figuring things out as I go. I trusted my instincts with this one, and I think you can hear that throughout the record.”

Supporting Tour
The night of What Are The Odds‘ release, Smith will co-headline All Points East 2026 alongside Tems. In the winter, Smith will travel stateside for a five-night tour across North America.
