For over a decade, indie pop duo Hovvdy (Charlie Martin and Will Taylor) have been carefully curating a fan base of die-hard supporters. Nearly ten projects in, Hovvdy’s sonic stamp has become easily recognizable.
But with each release, Hovvdy challenges themselves to push beyond the expected. This week, their latest musical expansion, album Big World, will hit streaming platforms.
In a statement shared with ENVERT, Hovvdy’s Charlie Martin spoke about their creative vision as they stepped into the creation of Big World.
“The last record felt like such a generous offering,” said Martin. “[The album was] a double-album, deeply personal; you can literally hear me crying on some songs. With [Big World], we wanted to take on the challenge of making something more concise and to the point, and give the fans something that feels like a shorter but more exciting ride.”
Lead single, “Try Try Try,” served as this bold explosion.

Supporting Tour
Beginning on August 13, Hovvdy will travel across the United Kingdom and European Union for a festival run and joint tour with Wilco. But after the leg ends on September 3, Hovvdy will rev things back up for their official Big World Tour.
The Big World Tour will launch on October 9 in Lawrence, Kansas at The Bottleneck. Hoovdy’s 27-date North America tour is set to feature special guests Emma Ogier and Christian Lee Hutson.
