Here Is Everything We Know About A24’s Upcoming Film ‘The Invite’

Thanks to the advent of social media and the modern push to overshare, we know far too much about people (all love to Michelle Goldberg’s New York Times piece). But this isn’t always true. In fact, according to the Survey Center on American Life, most neighbors never interact with one another.

Well, A24‘s upcoming comedy film, The Invite, examines one potential outcome of being hospitable. The forthcoming feature, which stars Seth Rogen, Olivia Wilde, Penélope Cruz, and Edward Norton, follows two couples when a tame dinner party takes a wild turn.

If the plot to The Invite sounds familiar, that’s because it is. The Invite is an English language adaptation of director Cesc Gay’s Goya and Feroz Award-nominated 2020 film Sentimental (or The People Upstairs).

Olivia Wilde directs The Invite. The Invite‘s composer is Devonté Hynes; the cinematographer and director of photography is Adam Newport-Berra. The editors of The Invite are Anthony Boys and Yorgos Mavropsaridis.

The Invite‘s screenplay is by Will McCormack and Rashida Jones.

The Invite‘s producers are Ben Browning, Megan Ellison, and David Permut.

The executive directors of The Invite are Alex Astrachan, Chelsea Barnard, Glen Basner, Patrick Chu, Shayne Fiske, Saul Germaine, Andy Kim, Alex G. Scott, and Elizabeth Niles.

Rebecca Romanek Holstein is an associate producer of The Invite.
