Vacations typically serve as a time to decompress and reset. For singer-songwriter Bedouine (Azniv Korkejian), a trip to visit family in Saudi Arabia, the “One Thing Right” musician was filled with enough inspiration for a full-length album.
Across Neon Summer Skin, Bedouine funnels that life-invigorating experience in a musical sense of self and safety. According to Bedouine, her creative mission with the forthcoming project was to “tell the story of family and upbringing and mourn the end of her childhood.”
In a statement shared with ENVERT, Bedouine expanded on the upcoming body of work’s inspiration.
“I felt so frustrated about the places that I’m from becoming war-torn or difficult to return to,” said Bedouine, speaking about the displacement of relatives who migrated between Armenia, Syria, and Saudi Arabia. “My family has been split apart time and time again.”
