It’s been four years since India Shawn shared her album, Before We Do (Deeper). Although the “Cotton Candy Blvd” singer has dropped one-off records to appease supporters, their online cries for a body of work could not be ignored.
Well, this Friday, India Shawn will deliver the EP Subject To Change, executive produced by Grammy and Oscar-winning producer D’Mile.
In a statement posted on Instagram, India outlined the inspiration behind the project.
“We’re all trying to find something to cling to, something sure. a purpose, a lover that stays, a feeling that lasts,” India opened the note. “Personally, the past couple of years have been marked by fluctuating friendships, revolving doors of business partners, and my own emotions that blow hot & cold by the day. It’s all in flux. The irony is, change has been the constant, the only thing I can depend on.”
She continued: “So I’m moving & grooving with it, letting it carry me like a melody note by note into the next song.”
