Molly O’Malley may be a fresh face in the alt-pop scene, but the indie rockers already love her. Thanks to her luscious ballads, the “Lens” singer has snagged opening slots on Henry Morris, Never Ending Fall, Foxing, and Magdalena Bay tours.
Soon enough, O’Malley will be headlining her own tour—but the first step is putting out her debut album. With Molly O’Malley sharing her new single, “Run Run Rumination,” she formally announced her forthcoming full-length project Jeeper Creepers.
“Run Run Rumination” is an addictive doom-and-gloom fuzzy pop-rock fusion love tune that creates an alluring glimpse of what Molly O’Malley has up her sleeve for Jeepers Creepers.
“Death’s a privilege / I might never wanna know / But with you, I found a reason / That I wanna grow old / ‘Cause I know / You give me something to look forward to / And I no longer wanna seclude myself / All the time, I wanna do more than just survive,” sings O’Malley.
In a statement shared with ENVERT, Molly O’Malley detailed the inspiration behind the tune.
“‘Run Run Rumination’ is about finding yourself in a relationship or situation or a community,” said O’Malley. “[It’s about] realizing everything that they’ve done to help you become a better version of yourself, but unfortunately, accepting that you still have this tendency to jump ship.”
She continued: “‘Run Run [Rumination]’ isn’t just about admitting to myself, or others, that I have a tendency to do that – it’s also confronting the shame alongside that and trying to figure out how to work past that.”
Molly O’Malley has not yet shared the official release date for Jeepers Creepers.
