As a band, The Point has built a growing fan base since the release of their 2020 project, Ihop. With four bodies of work to their name, The Point has found their stride.
But The Point (which is composed of guitarist Jack Montesinos, keyboardist & bassist Joe Roddy, and drummer Nico Leophonte) is looking to take things to the next level, and they plan on doing so at Keeled Scales Records.
In the formal announcement, Keeled Scales took to X (formerly Twitter) to outline The Point’s sound and why they were in alignment with the company.
“The trio effortlessly fuses world music like cumbia, afrobeat, dub, and tropicalia into psychedelic, jam-adjacent nuggets that keep crowds moving,” wrote a rep for the label.
Next month, The Point will drop their debut at their new label home, Maldito Animal (Deluxe Edition). To further shape the 2024 release, Maldito Animal (Deluxe Edition) will add two bonus tracks to the full-length record.
The Point’s album Maldito Animal (Deluxe Edition) is due out on September 26, 2025 via Spaceflight Records & Keeled Scales. Click here to pre-save or pre-order.
