Laufey is one of jazz’s exciting new faces. The “From The Start” singer’s debut album Everything I Know About Love and sophomore follow-up Bewitched earned Laufey a plethora of awards, nominations, and even chart success.
However, a creative wind is pushing Laufey in another direction. On her forthcoming studio album, A Matter Of Time (with AWAL), Laufey is ready to plunge into the world of pop.
While the project’s lead singles “Lover Girl,” “Silver Lining,” and “Tough Luck” contain Laufey’s beloved jazzy vocal styling, as a full body of work fans should expect something different on the remaining tunes.
In a statement posted to Laufey’s official Instagram page, she discussed the inspiration behind the album.
“I’ve taken my diary and turned it into an album of songs, delving into the whole range of emotions,” she wrote. “From the beautiful to the ugly – that one experiences as life and love unfold in time.”
