For most people, finding true love is a challenging goal to accomplish. Because unfortunately, the path towards love isn’t always neatly paved. The Amours delve into this emotionally challenging process on their new single, “Clarity.”
With the creative assistance of producer Camper and Dixson (who provides backing vocals), The Amours (Jakiya Ayanna and Shaina Aisha) shed light on how to navigate those bumps in the romantic road.
“So tell me, are we good / Cause I never really understand / It’s not like I said you was my man / But you only good at making plans and that’s all / But you never follow through / It should bother you to stress me / You could’ve just let me, alone” sings the group.
Between The Amours’ sultry vocals with Dixson’s complimentary layering support and Camper’s buttery smooth production, “Clarity” is a warm hug of emotionally intelligent reassurance.
Despite how hard you try to avoid it, sometimes you might stumble into a situation. The Amours’ “Clarity” serves as a guide on how to identify those unhealthy intimate connections and adjust accordingly.
However, if you thought this was a soundtrack to help walk you into a never-ending romantic entanglement, The Amours dispelled that on Instagram.
In a post promoting the record, they captioned the clip (viewable here): “POV, you just released the anthem for the ones who don’t need closure – just clarity.”
The duo expanded on this message with ENVERT. “‘Clarity’ is for the true yearners,” wrote The Amours in a statement. “As you all know, we’re lover girls for real! And we can attest that all we truly want is for the love that our hearts desire to be as clear as possible. Especially, when you know your worth, and you don’t want to waste your time carrying avoidable emotional damage.”
The Amours went on to tease that “Clarity” is part of their forthcoming album. However, they are not yet ready to reveal the details of their project.
