If fans thought Felicia Temple was going to take a break following the release of her highly anticipated EP Bedroom Chronicles 2 last year, they were wrong. The singer and songwriter is back with a brand new light, aromatic, fun, and vibrant single titled, “Touch” produced by VINCI.
Known for her delicate and at times somber approach to R&B music, Temple continues to prove that she is more than able to explore beyond the boundaries placed onto the genre.
With a contagious uptempo arrangement, “Touch” is a promising new direction for Temple that showcases her Jersey roots. While many of the more commercially successful recording legends from the garden state were trailblazers in jazz, gospel, rap, and yes, R&B, one of the most under-recognized contributions to music is the state’s impact on dance music including everything from electronic and house to Jersey club.
Although this isn’t Temple’s first attempt at creating a crossover, “Touch” is by far my favorite of her efforts. While far less extreme than Vivian Green’s “Get Right Back To My Baby” or Karen Harding’s “Say Something“, “Touch” certainly contains all of the same swagger. Windows down as the soft spring breeze brushes across your face as this track blares out of your car’s sound system, “Touch” is the perfect transition track into the spring and summer seasons.

Whether I'm popping in to an open mic night or digital crate-digging for hours through my favorite digital streaming platform, finding indie artists is the name then telling their story is the game.
