Mello Music Group rapper Chris Orrick drops a new visual for single, “Design Flaw” produced by labelmate L’Orange as he gears up for his forthcoming solo album slated for release on May 4th.
The music video, directed by Malcolm Critcher, finds Chris Orrick once again delivering his truth with such complete vulnerability that it breaths and pulses with life. The raw, soul-searching depth Orrick is best known for is not only the place great art & music comes from, but also comedy. Chris reveals his unabashed muppet-self spiraling out of control, locked in a hotel room with a beautiful woman and a snout, on a bender.
When asked about working with Orrick, director Malcolm Critcher said, “one thing that has always struck me about Chris Orrick’s lyrics is how deftly they walk the razors edge of the comedic and tragic. For our first collaboration, I wanted to bring this spirit to life,” adding, “the idea of having a Puppet circling the drain to rock bottom was ultimately born from ruminating on addicts and what role denial plays in their struggle. The Puppet is approaching rock bottom as an alcoholic, but foundation-ally his substance abuse stems from his denial of the fact that he is an inanimate object.”
