There aren’t many artists that can match the grind of actor and recording artist, Trevor Jackson! Without a doubt 2018 (Grown-ish, Superfly, Rough Drafts, Part 1, etc.) was the biggest year of his professional career and 2019 is following closely behind. The rising rapper and R&B star is gearing up to release the second installment of his musical series, Rough Drafts.
When asked about why he went with the title Rough Drafts, Jackson told HotNewHipHop, “you’ve got to do a couple of rough drafts, revise it,” later adding, “I’m just trying to show people that it’s OK to be at peace within the steps getting there, to wherever you’re trying to get.”
On the project’s lead single, “SPAM In A Can” produced by DJ Money, Jackson opens up about the difficulties that accompany success especially at an early age. In the official video for the track co-directed by Arrad Rahgoshay, the former Disney star gives fans a glimpse into his life.
The full LP will be released via EMPIRE Distribution on June 4 and immediately following the release of the LP, Jackson will be hitting the major cities across the country to share this new project with his fans. To pre-save Rough Drafts, Part 2 click here.

Whether I'm popping in to an open mic night or digital crate-digging for hours through my favorite digital streaming platform, finding indie artists is the name then telling their story is the game.
