South African duo The Soap Girls returns with a high spirited new single “Heart in Bloom”. The first single from their unnamed upcoming fourth album is an energetic rock track with slick production, a heavy rhythm section and irresistible lead guitar hook reminiscent of larger than life 80s rockers such as Billy Idol and Def Leppard

“Heart In Bloom” continues in the mellower direction of their last effort, 2019’s Elephant in the Room. adding sugar-coated harmonies and much improved production to the jagged guitars and fierce vocals the pair are already known for.

Their hopeful outlook on the distance between us and our loved ones during lockdown encouraged the duo to reflect on these times. They took to social media to write, “[Heart In Bloom] is about being apart through distance whether in life or death from the person or persons you love. It’s hard when you can’t be with or see someone who has your heart.”

Later adding, “being on tour all the time we were always able to see people we love, but with [the pandemic] going on and not being allowed to move around it makes the ache of distance even harder because it’s out of our hands, and so the track is about ensuring that you keep your heart full of hope, as real true love and friendship is a bond that can never break.”
