Whether I'm popping in to an open mic night or…
What happens in Vegas will be reported back to rock music lovers around the country. Thanks to When We Were Young 2025 presented by 7-Eleven, fans of the genre will flock to Sin City for two days of headbanging performances.
This weekend, across October 18 and 19, Panic At The Disco, Blink-182, Weezer, Avril Lavigne, The Offspring, All Time Low, and more are set to take over the Las Vegas Festival Grounds. While these acts are surely some of the most widely recognizable names, When We Were Young’s 2025 lineup features an array of prominent and rising independent acts.
In the small font, you’ll find artists like Taylor Acorn, Mayday Parade, Arm’s Length, Her Leather Jacket, Alexisonfire, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, The Rocket Summer, Destroy Boys, Asking Alexandria, The Plot In You, We Came As Romans, and Loathe.
Ahead of their appearance, I had the chance to chat with Taylor Acorn and Mayday Parade about their upcoming sets at When We Were Young 2025. Read our chat below.
When We Were Young 2025, presented by 7-Eleven, is scheduled to take place from October 18 to October 19, 2025, at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds in Las Vegas, Nevada. Although the festival is completely sold out, there is a waitlist in case last-minute tickets are made available. Click here for more information.
Taylor Acorn (Fearless Records)
Months removed from the deluxe edition of her album, Survival In Motion, Taylor Acorn has so much more story to tell. As fans of the “Crashing Out” singer awake, Acorn’s forthcoming sophomore follow-up Poster Child, she will tell those tales on stage nationwide very soon.
Although the North American Tour is set to kick off until after Poster Child’s release (October 24), those lucky enough to snag When We Were Young 2025 tickets can sample the project this weekend.
During our chat, Acorn gushed about her upcoming set.
“It means everything to me,” said Acorn. “I’m just a girl from a really small town who grew up listening to so many of the bands that are playing the festival.”
She continued: “So it’s really insane to see how full circle it all is. I’m just really excited and extremely grateful.
Although Acorn is still finetuning the show for her forthcoming North American Tour 2025, she is more than ready to hit the When We Were Young stage. When asked about what attendees should expect of her set, Acorn confidently replied, “I think they can expect a lot of energy and a lot of emotion.”
Acorn went on to add: “I try to give every show 100% as well as my bandmates. I think they will have a lot of fun, at least that’s the ultimate goal! Even if they don’t know my music, I just hope they leave feeling like they had a really great time!”
Taylor Acorn is scheduled to perform on the Allianz Stage beginning at 1 p.m. Stay connected with Taylor Acorn on Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok.

Mayday Parade is no stranger to rock fans or the road. In fact, the “Under My Sweater” musicians are currently touring their new studio album, Sad, as All Time Low’s special guest.
Despite the group’s hectic schedule, I managed to catch up with Mayday Parade’s bassist, Jeremy Lenzo, to discuss their upcoming performance at When We Were Young 2025.
While Mayday Parade are certified rock veterans, Lenzo emphasized how special their inclusion on this year’s lineup is to him.
“It feels like a full-circle moment,” Lenzo exclaimed. “You remember being those kids in a van, sleeping on floors, walking around with headphones, trying to get anyone to listen to music you poured your heart into.”
He continued: “Now, twenty years later, we’re playing alongside the same artists who inspired us back then, to crowds full of people who grew up with our songs. It’s an amazing experience, and we’re happy to be back.”
With a vast discography to comb through, Lenzo vowed they’ve carefully curated their forthcoming setlist.
“We will play a lot of material from our past, sprinkled with a few newer songs,” said Lenzo when discussing their performance. “I mean, the festival is called When We Were Young, so it would be remiss if we didn’t lean into that.”
He confidently closed by saying, “Overall, I think it will just be a fun show.”
Mayday Parade is scheduled to perform on the 7-Eleven Stage beginning at 12:55 p.m. Stay connected with Mayday Parade on Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok.
