Tanner Adell is country music’s self-proclaimed and beloved buckle bunny. Just as rabbits are hunted by snakes in the wild, Tanner finds herself the prey of slimy men.
On her latest single, “Snakeskin,” Tanner Adell shows that this buckle bunny isn’t afraid to stand up for herself. “Who do you think put the ‘leave’ in ‘Levi’s’? / Boy, you’re just a choice, I got three guys / Lovin’ me is a slippery slope / I’ll burn you up like hickory smoke / Think you’re slicker than the snakeskins on my feet / But you never been wrapped around nothin’ like me,” sings Tanner.
In the music video for “Snakeskin,” directed by Alexa Stone, Tanner takes her take-no-mess attitude to the extreme, poisoning her slimy boyfriend, played by Camden Gilbert.
While the record, which was co-produced with Di Genius and Will Weatherly, is new to most, Tanner has previewed the track during several recent performances, including at Artscape 2025 (view here).
On Instagram, Tanner penned a note of gratitude for fans’ support and her team behind the tune. “As a FULLY independent artist, thank you to everyone who worked on this with me, what an incredible day it was writing this song,” she wrote. “Will Weatherly came into the studio with a guitar and said I feel like you don’t have anything like this and started playing the most heavenly chords. What a special room. Thank you for joining me on this journey. “
