Two years in the making, alternative-r&b artist Tangina Stone will release her debut album Elevate in North America, available September 15 on IMG Records. In support of Elevate Tangina will perform live in-studio for BRIC TV’s ‘B-Side’ on today, Thursday, September 14. ‘B-Side’ is BRIC TV’s live interview and music series featuring performances from emerging and established musicians. ‘B-Side’ airs live, Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. on BRIC TV.
Combining elements of soul, rock, electronic and r&b, Elevate is an intimate journey of Stone’s personal ‘elevation’ as a woman and artist, complemented by a stellar team of producers and collaborators consisting of Crystal Caines, WOLFGVNG, NOKTURN and Fouché of Illm!nd’s imprint Roseville Music Group, award winning saxophonist Kenneth Whalum, Eddie Vanz, Liana Banks and the incomparable Nelly Furtado.
Lighting the way for Elevate is single “Anxious,” which continues to grow with 297K plays on Spotify alone, and heating up playlists on Pandora and Spotify respectively. Other standout tracks on the album include “Black Boy” feat. Kenneth Whalum, on which Tangina tackles the prison system inspired by the incarceration of her father and the more upbeat “Exposed” where Tangina and Nelly Futrado team up to talk about love gone sour.
Released in Japan March 2017, Elevate peaked at #44 on Apple Music Japan’s Top R&B Albums chart and “Exposed” continues to trend on iTunes Japan’s R&B Hot Tracks. Garnering praise globally with features on The FADER, Pigeons & Planes, Popdust, Noisey Poland – 8 Emerging R&B Artists You Need To Know, Galore Magazine, AXS, CBC Radio Canada and more; Tangina stone has been championed as a universal breath of fresh air with a purity in her sound and vulnerability in her lyrics that will transcend music.
