Cuban/German-American pop singer and songwriter Sylvia Bremer has not had the most consistent solo musical presence, releasing a series of singles of the years, “Energy” in 2017 and “2 AM” in early 2019. However, that seems to be a thing of the past as the Miami-based act is now under new management and is planning on releasing several track EP of all original music later this year.

Bremer’s new single, “Not Okay” produced by Wvchin serves as the leads single of the not yet named project. On the up-tempo pop track reminiscent of Dumblonde singer Aubrey O’Day, Bremer details the emotional strain of being in a one-sided relationship as outlined in lines like “tell me why you stick around / play these games that keep me entertained / walkout every time you feel like it / it’s not okay, we’re not okay.”

When asked about the story behind the track, Bremer replied, “[Not Okay] details how partners can be in the same bed and feel like complete strangers because neither of them understands how the other one is feeling, so it’s just argument after argument”.
