Here’s Everything We Know About: Sudan Archives’ Album ‘The BPM’

In 2022, Sudan Archives released her acclaimed sophomore album, Natural Brown Prom Queen.

Since then, the “Selfish Soul” musician has been the staple soundtrack for every dance floor. Now, she’s back with another project to add to the endless party—The BPM.

“Making this album changed everything,” wrote Sudan Archives on Instagram, discussing The BPM. “I can’t wait to share every piece with you. It all started with a loop.”

On The BPM, Sudan Archives will introduce her new persona: Gadget Girl.

Sudan Archives went on to her budding persona: “I was never the girl in a band in high school – I could only express myself for the first time when I got my first iPad and started making beats on it, and when I got my first electric violin. I’m all gadget girled out now, but I’ve never felt so free as a human.”

Recorded in Los Angeles, Chicago, and Detroit, The BPM encapsulates each of the cities’ beloved EDM signatures. Across the forthcoming body of work, which includes nods to Jersey club, global dance music, and experimental beatwork.
