Almost ‘Immediately’ Stay Lunar Is An Indie Pop Band To Watch

Stay Lunar

As the music industry continues to push forward in hopes to begin the recovery process, many recording artists are reflecting on the past year and a half. Reckoning with how it has changed them and how it will continue to change the landscape of the world, artists are at the forefront of this movement, expressing their fears and hopes through their music.

Perhaps one of the best parts of this new shift in music is the tone of optimism that can be brought to it. It’s easy for the words to reflect deep contemplation, sadness, desperation or depression, but what’s really heartening to hear is hope.

While Stay Lunar’s single, “Immediately,” does discuss the struggles of the pandemic, the energy in the beats can be felt in every part of the body— leaving listeners with a vestle of effervescence.

Forming in 2019 and releasing their first single, “dreaming that i’m not in lockdown,” in May, faithful energy about fearful subjects is not foreign to the five-piece band from Bristol. With danceable synths and bouncy verses, they stay true to the “indie/dream-pop goodness” they describe themselves as.

“Immediately” follows on the group’s musical track, often reminiscent of 80’s English bands like the Psychedelic Furs. The beginning beats draw listeners in with feelings of timely significance, paving the way for the rest of the track’s momentum.

While their gentle vocals blend the verses, it is not without feeling the impact of their lyrics. The electric synths and guitar lead can’t help but make listeners feel almost ready for something, maybe even immediately? Ready to get up and dance; ready to take control of your life; ready for the unknown and vague future. Either way, ready and hopeful.
