Electro-pop duo, Samurai Velvet, comprised of singer Saige Smith and producer Joe Chilcott is breaking out of the Pittsburgh music scene and onto the national radar with their debut EP, Suede. The project’s lead single, “Nite Out” is irresistibly fun with a splash of young adult recklessness reminiscent of 2000s OK Go and Cobra Starship.
When asked about the inspiration behind the track, lead vocalist Saige replied, “[Nite Out] is a bad bitch anthem in memory of the pre-Covid Friday nights. Get lit thot shit”. The track’s official video directed by Bradley Atom is certainly representative of a much more light-hearted time.
