Here’s Everything We Know About: Perfume Genius’ Album ‘Glory’

What does glory mean to you? Well, Mike Hadreas, professionally known as Perfume Genius, will reveal their interpretation of the word in March with a new studio album. With their new band (consisting of guitarists Meg Duffy and Greg Uhlmann, drummers Tim Carr and Jim Keltner, and bassist Pat Kelly, partner in life and songwriting Alan Wyffels, as well as longtime producer Blake Mills, Perfume Genius has quite the story to tell.

According to Perfume Genius, their forthcoming album, Glory, will sonically explore the “back and forth between internal and external.” The project’s lead single, “It’s A Mirror” is a glimpse of what’s coming.

In a statement, Perfume Genius expressed their excitement for the work, considering it marks a new chapter filled with both fresh and longtime collaborators. “I’m more engaged with the band and the audience,” they said. “I’m still on some wild tear, but there’s more access, and it’s more collaborative, in a way that makes it better, but also scary—because it feels more vulnerable.”
