Here’s Everything We Know About: Paz Lenchantin’s Album ‘Triste’

For a decade, alternative music connoisseurs have come to know Paz Lenchantin as Pixies’ vocalist and beloved bassist. However, last year, after the release of their last studio album, The Night the Zombies Came, Lenchantin slyly began to spread her solo wings.

With her recently founded label (Hideous Human Records) up and running, Lenchantin is ready to step into the stage lights by herself. Soon enough, supporters will experience Paz Lenchantin’s highly anticipated solo debut album, Triste.

Mixed by Chris Coady with guest appearances from drummer Josh Freese and guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen, Triste is, in Lenchantin’s words, a necessary part of her healing process.

“I had to make this record on my own,” said Lenchantin in a statement. “Not to prove anything, but just to have faith that music can nurture me back. And it did.”

On Triste, Lenchantin picked back up where 2006’s EP Songs For Luci left off. The forthcoming project’s lead single “Hang Tough” emphasizes that Lenchantin is not only a new person, but her music is also new.
