Atlanta-based recording artist NEILÀ continues to blaze a trail all her own. From the success of the 2018 EP Sage and singles like “Comfy” produced DunDeal earlier this year, the singer proves there’s no human being quite like her. The out of this world uniqueness of the self-proclaimed “alien princess” continues to radiant throughout her latest single, “No” produced by Spree Wilson.
You might want to grab your crystals because the track off her forthcoming project, Venus, is not only a vibe but will clear any blockage to your third eye.
I had a chance to catch up with NEILÀ to asked her about the inspiration behind the new song to which she said, “[the track] is a self-empowerment anthem. Living in a world where social media and people who don’t know you feel obligated to tell you how you ‘should’ act, dress or be, this song speaks out for people to be proud of who they are,” adding, “before I accepted myself and really loved myself I would take everything someone said to me or about me to heart and I would internalize it. I wrote this song at the point where I was standing up for myself.”

Whether I'm popping in to an open mic night or digital crate-digging for hours through my favorite digital streaming platform, finding indie artists is the name then telling their story is the game.
