Golden Globe Award-winning actress Michaela Jaé Rodriguez (formerly MJ Rodriguez) is heading to Broadway. The “Something To Say” singer, songwriter, dancer, and actress has officially joined Roundabout Theatre Company’s revival of Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show; directed by Tony Award-winner Sam Pinkleton.
On March 26, Rodriguez will step into the role of Columbia when previews begin at Studio 54.
Over on Instagram, the production team welcomed Rodriguez to the cast, writing, “Give yourself over. Michaela Jaé Rodriguez (Columbia) joins the cast of THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW on Broadway.”
Rodriguez won’t be the only actor making their Broadway debut in the production. Harvey Guillén (Eddie/Dr. Scott), Juliette Lewis (Magenta), and Josh Rivera (Rocky) will also share this career milestone during The Rocky Horror Show‘s run.
Other principal cast members include Stephanie Hsu (Janet), Luke Evans (Frank-N-Furter), Rachel Dratch (Narrator), Andrew Durand (Brad), and Amber Gray (Riff Raff).
As outlined by Broadway.com, swings Renée Albulario, Anania, Andres Quintero, and John Yi as well as ensemble Boy Radio, Caleb Quezon, Larkin Reilly, and Paul Soileau, will round out the cast.
