Toronto-Based Indie Rockers madfolk Join The Royal Mountain Records Roster And Share Label Debut Single ‘Katherine’

The Royal Mountain Records roster has grown by four kick ass musicians. Known for its speciality in molding budding indie rock, power pop, alternative, as well as punk acts, Royal Mountain’s latest signee, madfolk, is right at home.

Comprised of frontman and guitarist Finn Scott, bassist Michael O’Meara, guitarist Charlie Sills, and drummer Jackson Seaward, the Toronto-based rockers inked a deal with Royal Mountain and are ready to hit the ground running.

For the label debut, madfolk shared their punching single “Katherine.” Known locally for their vibrant playing style and relatable songwriting, the track, which was co-produced by Nick Corcoran and Dex Piecowye, brings these star-in-the-making traits to new heights, resulting in the addictively nostalgic pop-punk anthem.

In a statement shared with ENVERT, Scott spoke about the inspiration behind “Katherine.”

“I wrote ‘Katherine’ about the perils of interpersonal relationships online,” said Scott. “I was trying to capture how it feels to judge someone solely on their profile and how easy it can be to idealize someone you’ve never met.”
