Little Simz Shares ‘Don’t Leave Too Soon’ The Dystopian Theme Song From Netflix Film ‘Steve’

Little Simz’s latest studio album, Lotus, is continuing to burn up the streaming charts. Next month, the North American wing of her supporting tour will officially launch in Toronto, Canada.

But at the same time, Little Simz hasn’t put her other creative ventures on hold. In fact, tomorrow (September 19), Little Simz fans will enjoy her next film role.

Netflix’s Steve, starring Academy Award-winning actor Cillian Murphy, Tracey Ullman, Jay Lycurgo, Emily Watson, and Little Simz, is heading to select theaters. To celebrate its forthcoming release, Little Simz jumped in the booth to record Steve’s theme track.

On “Don’t Leave Too Soon,” Little Simz embodies the dystopian nature of the film. The film is described as: “Over one intense day, the devoted head teacher of a last-chance reform school strives to keep his students in line while facing pressures of his own.

“I can tell that you don’t get out as much / With these rocks on your back / Weighing you down / Cos you feel all of you is not enough / You’re out of touch / And out of sight / Out of mind / Out of time / Out of love,” raps Little Simz.

In a statement posted on Instagram, Little Simz shared her excitement to contribute musically.

“Honoured to have contributed to the film in this way,” she wrote.
