Grammy-nominated, NAACP Image Awards and Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards winners, Les Nubians’ Up Close and Personal Tour is set to make a spot in Newark, New Jersey as part of the Afro Beat Fest on Saturday, July 15th presented by Newark Social inside of the city’s Military Park.

Following the release of their 2011 album, Nü Revolution, French R&B sibling duo has continuously toured internationally creating a widespread fanbase and their Newark debut is slated to an unforgettable performance experience at the inaugural Afro Beat Festival in the downtown arts district.
Joining the smooth soul, reggae, hip-hop, and African pop fusion pair are follow recording artists Nigerian Entertainment Awards winner Ayo ‘Boy Wonder’ Jay known for hit song, “Your Number”, Ghanaian highlife singer Bisa Kdei known for hit songs “Life” and “Brother Brother”, with guest sets by DJ Sienna Chanel, DJ Nayah and DJ MOMA.

Founded in 2016, Newark Social’s mission is to celebrate the beauty of Newark while highlighting the diversity of its’ residents and this year’s Afro beat Festival does just that! With mix of nearly 200 vendors featuring food, clothing, artifacts from the African diaspora, Newark Social will be bringing African to Brick City.

In addition to main stage performances, the Afro Beat Fest activities include a children’s village, fashion showcase, dancers and drummers’ circle.
