Laufey Used Her 2026 Grammy Awards Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album Speech To Adovcate For Arts Education Funding

Yesterday (February 1), the 2026 Grammy Awards brought together the biggest names in pop music. With so many acts ready to duke it out for a trophy, fans were ready for some stiff competition.

However, in the Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album category, it appears one rising act has it on lock. Laufey‘s A Matter Of Time snatched the win against Laila Biali’s Wintersongs, Jennifer Hudson’s The Gift Of Love, Elton John & Brandi Carlile’s Who Believes In Angels?, Lady Gaga’s Harlequin, and Barbra Streisand’s The Secret Of Life: Partners, Volume 2.

During her acceptance speech, Laufey, filled with emotion, used the moment to trace her success back to her arts education foundation.

“I have everything to thank my music education and my arts education for,” confessed Laufey. “We cannot cut funding for the arts — they are so important. What you are all doing here is so important. I love you all so much.”
