Mixed-discipline artist LATASHÁ emerges from her spiritual hiatus with new single, “Who I Am”. While the track produced by Jim Bianco, isn’t the Brooklyn native’s first song released as a Los Angeles transplant, however, “Who I Am” is certainly a sonic reintroduction since the big move.
With a professional career spanning over half-a-decade, LATASHÁ has become known for her gritty New York City Hip-Hop sound. This go ’round LATASHÁ sheds these expectations to experiment similar to 2017’s “Glo Up”.
“Who I Am” dips in and out of EDM with a sprinkle of Go-Go on a solid rap foundation. On the surface, “Glo Up” was a self-esteem booster shot whereas “Who I Am” is a permission slip of creative expression. Permission from herself to herself, to pursue her art and allow it to form in whatever way she sees fit.
“This is who I am/This is what I do/This is who I am/Who the fuck are you,” raps LATASHÁ.
The official music video directed by Jahmel Reynolds (Lytehaus Media) places this metamorphosis on full display. From the blossoming of the flower face masks representing growth to the breathtaking overhead meadow shots representing transparency for which she tends to operate moving forward.

Whether I'm popping in to an open mic night or digital crate-digging for hours through my favorite digital streaming platform, finding indie artists is the name then telling their story is the game.
