LATASHA is on the ‘Glo Up’ & You Can’t Stop Her Shine

After dropping her former artist name of L.A. Indie rapper and visual artist now known as LATASHA is truly manifesting all areas in her life including her creative disciplines, spiritual being and her career her latest visual for single, “GLO UP” of her project Teen Night at Empire is an example of this.

The video directed by Natasha Hester and Ethan Mills is as the Brooklynite describes an ode “for the around the way weirdo girls from the hood”. The visual highlighting her childhood stomping grounds in New York.

In the video’s premiere interview on Refinery 29, when asked about the inspiration behind the track she replied, “this song ‘Glo Up’ is dedicated to the time where I was dealing with depression, had just gotten out of a relationship with a man who was really mean to me, and was trying to find my identity as an artist during a period where the only other major female rapper was Nicki Minaj,” adding, “so the glow up is about coming out of that, but also accepting who I am. And I think any woman can relate to that, that feeling of trying to become your best self and also learn to love yourself.”
