It just wouldn’t be summer without new music from Los-Angeles based producer and multi-genre recording artist, LATASHÁ! Following up on the success of hit song, “Who I Am,” released in March, the Brooklyn native returns with new single, “Gogo Wyne”.

On the electronic and dancehall fusion track, LATASHÁ raps about overcoming naysayers and receiving all it is that you deserve in life professionally or otherwise heard in lines like “I don’t make time for the hate that’s bubble”, “I always had my own lanes what you gotta do to make waves”, and “this gyal comin’ at the right time /… this year I’m coming for the goody-good”

While “Gogo Wyne” and previous single, “Who I Am” (which found a home on the Netflix limit series Self Made: Inspired by the Life of Madam C.J Walker?) share similar sonic elements including their up-beat tempo, “Gogo Wyne” is certainly unique in many ways.

As LATASHÁ continues to explore outside of what past critics labeled ‘her signature sound’ “Gogo Wyne” shows the elevation of her not only as a recording artist but producer as well. “Gogo Wyne” is self-love chants, manifestation music, and required streaming.

I reached out to LATASHÁ to ask her about the inspiration behind the track to which she replied, “inspired by old school dancehall records I grew up on,‘GoGo Wyne’is not just my affirmation song but it’s the manifestation of my people’s success, despite what others might think of our worth. It’s a reminder of our magic even when they try to kill us. So, I created [GoGo Wyne] as an anthem for Black women, so we can be in all of our joy, collecting all of our checks. No more games. It’s time.”
