Guapdad 4000, LaRussell, Sampa the Great, Ovrkast, Denzel Curry, And More Lend A Creative Hand To The ‘HIM’ Soundtrack

Loma Vista Recordings is getting into the movie business — in a way. The independent label has taken the musical reins of the upcoming film, HIM.

While HIM was directed by Justin Tipping and produced by Jordan Peele, Loma Vista had another musical coach for the soundtrack. Scored by BAFTA Award winner Bobby Krilic, recruited a squad of independent acts for HIM (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack), including Jean Dawson, Denzel Curry and Sampa the Great.

Among the 28 curated tracks, you’ll find several Loma Vista acts and other independently signed recording artists. Ahead of the film’s release, Loma Vista dropped two tunes from the forthcoming soundtrack “Tip Toe” by Interscope signee Tierra Whack and “Swim” by indie rapper Guapdad 4000 featuring MAVI.

Over on Instagram, Guapdad 4000 spoke about his inclusion on the soundtrack.

“Soundtrack for ‘HIM,’ a Jordan Peele production directed by Bay Area own JTip & he’s Filipino too,” penned Guap. “So that’s hella cool to me.”

Other Bay Area representatives featured on the soundtrack include LaRussell, Ovkast, and Larry June.
