It has been three years since L’Rain‘s last studio album. But if you thought 2023’s I Killed Your Dog was a ballsy project, you are in for a mind-blowing experience with fata morgana.
Due out in just a few days, the forthcoming body of work is, as L’Rain puts it, “a fearless reckoning with self-doubt and the mirages of belonging and alienation.”
According to L’Rain, fata morgana, adheres to one strict rule, and that’s that there are no rules. In the liner notes provided by Mexican Summer, sonically, fata morgana will feature dancehall, tape meditations, slow jams, gospel, and crunched metal influences.
Over on Instagram, L’Rain penned a note detailing the creative journey of fata morgana.
“Experimental music is over,” wrote L’Rain. “I never played jazz. Above all, I hope to make one thing clear—I do what the fuck I want. I always take big swings, but these are my biggest so far. I’m proud of that. Leave expectations at the door.”

Supporting Tour
L’Rain will hit the road to support the release of fata morgana. Continue below to view the official Fata Morgana Tour schedule and poster. At this time, no supporting acts have been announced. However, in her announcement post on Instagram, L’Rain tagged several musicians, including her partner Ben Chapoteau-Katz, Jachary, Strugglin’, Timothy Angulo, Kayvon Gordon, and more, implying they would be joining her on the road.
According to a note provided to ENVERT, L’Rain has partnered with PLUS1 in connection with the Fata Morgana Tour. For every ticket sold to select tour stops, $1 will be donated to the non-profit organization Sounds of Saving. The organization provides tools, content, resources, and curriculum to young people (14-24 years old) to help them discover and utilize music to support their mental health and wellness.
