Kiana Ledé’s Emotionally Jolting ‘Cut Ties Deluxe’ Single ‘Jury’ Serves As A Reminder Of Love’s Sometimes Brutal Bite

Back in November 2025, Kiana Ledé treated fans to an extended version of her latest album, Cut Ties. Yesterday (March 3), Kiana Ledé circled back by gifting supporters with a visualizer of the Cut Ties Deluxe bonus track, “Jury.”

Nearly four months removed from the body of work, “Jury,” which was produced by the collective I LIKE THAT, still stings as sharply as it did upon its release. When experienced in its pure form, love is supposed to be a force that transforms for the better. On the opposite end, when diluted with sinister intentions by an emotionally stunted partner, the effects could be catastrophic.

Kiana Ledé, alongside credited writing partners Malik Sanders, Christopher Taglianetti, Wesley Curtis Robinson, Joshua Ayers, Mychal Kendricks, and Bailey Bryan use the lyrics of “Jury” to document the latter.

“If I seen you today / Probably take out the knife / That you left in my spine / And wave it in your face / Should worry bout your safety and your reputation / I don’t care what’s at stake / Rather lay down and die / Before I give you back access to my softer side / It’s only right,” sings Kiana to open the emotionally jolting record.

On a sonic scared straight scale of Jazmine Sullivan’s “Lions, Tigers & Bears” (simple anxiety) to “Bust The Windows” (Class A misdemeanor), Kiana Ledé’s “Jury” is an unapologetic frequent flyer at club romantic crash out with a cash stash of bail money tucked into its mattress.

Kiana Ledé’s “Jury” should serve as a cautionary tale, reminding hopeless romantics of love’s sometimes brutal bite. But let’s be real, no amount of advance warning will deter folks from pursuing the most intoxicating feeling on earth—unadulterated intimacy.

In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), Kiana expanded on the project’s personal significance.

“‘Cut Ties’ has been such an important project for me bc these songs all represent a time where I had to decide what was serving me in my life,” wrote Kiana. “I hold onto relationships for way too long bc im a loyal b*tch, but I’m so good at cutting people off once I feel betrayed in any way.”

She continued: “I live in a world of extremes, and sometimes it shocks people how easy I make it seem. While making this album, I was processing whether that’s a toxic trait or not. That was only a part of the process. And now I realize sometimes just cutting them off doesn’t feel harsh enough for me.”
