After releasing her debut album, Classical Notions of Happiness, followed up by her EP Something to Say both this year, indie pop singer and songwriter Jordana is onto something!
In anticipation of her sophomore album, her latest single, “I Guess This is Life” is all about growing up and understanding the meaning behind every moment.
“I Guess This Is Life” is a thoughtful interpretation of life as something you don’t know it’s happening until it becomes a memory. The soft pop ballad feels nostalgic yet warm, wrapped in Jordana’s pleasing vocal melodies, jazzy drums, and piano background.
Lyrics such as “I open the cabinet where the thoughts all sit / I acknowledge it / To try not to miss it I take it step by step” manages to convey the emotive sentiment of the track.
The accompanying video for the track is wonderfully simplicist, portraying those short and fleeting moments that easily go unnoticed. When asked about the track, Jordana replied, “(I Guess This is Life) is about the motions of everyday life and how experiences, no matter big or small, make up the person that you are and how you both perceive and are perceived by the world”.
