For nearly eight years, fans of Jessie J have patiently waited for a new body of work. The “Believe In Magic” singer’s musical hiatus will end this month.
Jessie J’s sixth studio album, Don’t Tease Me With A Good Time, marks the start of a new era. After entering into a deal with Darco Artist Partnerships (D.A.P.), the forthcoming project kicks off Jessie J’s journey of musical independence.
Connecting with Ryan Tedder, Jesse Boykins III, Los Hendrix, and Marty Maro, Jessie J’s Don’t Tease Me With A Good Time is “a bold kaleidoscope of emotions, capturing the raw highs and lows of the last decade.”
Recorded over the past five years in Los Angeles, Jessie J works through emotional, unfiltered, and unapologetic feelings, pouring those into 16 intense tracks.
In a statement, Jessie J discussed the creative process that went into recording Don’t Tease Me With A Good Time.
“It’s been eight years since my last body of work,” said Jessie J. “This music is so layered and stretched over so many emotional and celebratory years of my life. Crossing many genres and feelings. The songs are a journey of grief to joy. Finding the light, and life after loss.”
She continued: “A journey so many of us go through, and I hope these songs can hold the hand of anyone in need of a soundtrack to a good or bad time. I love making music, I love sharing, I love connecting. I love an adventure. Don’t tease me with a good time.”
